Assuming you're talking about the Burmese Python 'problem' in Florida... It's human ignorance - plain and simple !! Some irresponsible people bought baby Burmese Pythons - without realising... (a) how big they grow - (b) how quickly they get to a size too big for one person to handle, and - (c) their unpredictable temperament.
Once they realised they couldn't cope with the poor snakes, some owners simply turned them loose in the neighbourhood - where the snakes found a ready supply of food - in the shape of domestic pets !
Remember - the Burmese Python is not a native species of the USA. It's NOT the snakes fault - it's their previous owners fault !
