When a Nazi comes to take 3 people to their death, he chooses Esther Shifre and Rivka. Hannah takes Rivka's hat and puts it on, going to Lilith's Cave for her. Out of the people who came with Hannah, only Gitl, Leye, Leye's baby, and Yitzchak, who escaped, stayed alive. Gitl and Shmuel live together in Israel after.

Shmuel and 5 other men were getting ready to pay the price for trying to escape and it was to be shot. So when they were about to shoot Fayge was in the crowd watching and she jumped from the crowd in front of Shmeul and was shot also in the process of killing the 6 men. But this is a is a Question of Interpretation (Are questions that have more then on good answer) so she could have jumped in front of him because she loved him and wanted to die with him, she also could have done it so maybe it would stop the Nazi's from shooting the men, also she loved him and she wasn't part of the escape plan because she wanted to live to her next meal and didn't go with them and now regrets it so she was trying to prove to him that she loved him, or just wanted to be selfish and get out of the camps.
