Well... the number one thing that they did was try to escape to the North where slavery was banned. Somtimes, if there masters were cruel enough, they would kill them sometimes and run away. The slaves had some white people in the North helping them to freedom also.
I don't really know but slavery was popular during the time it was written so it probably supports slavery, just like the old testament and the new testament.
