Everything got bogged down. Motor vehicles and cannons and horses and men got up to their knees in goop and had great difficulty moving around. It was slow getting the wounded men out and dead bodies were left quite often where they fell and this caused the rats to breed and eat the bodies and disease spread. It was a mess.
The only saving grace from an extremely unsanitized trenches was the fact they stayed in them one week at a time. Please read the attaching link as to what they had to go through while in the trenches.
It was swampy in the trenches because of rain. All they had to eat was buiscuits that are supposed to be cooked first but they weren't. They were soggy blobs of bread. All photos and letters from family members were ruined because of water.
They didn't. The soldiers were constantly standing in a puddle of muddy water, and they didn't have time to sit down somewhere and relax. Because of the constant wet feet, the soldeirs ended up developing "trench foot" which was a disease that spread on the feet, meaning extreme pain, and in most cases the feet or legs had to be amputated. This killed many men in the war, just because of wet feet.
The soldiers would write letters home and write poems about their feelings. they would also have to cope with some unpleasent jobs like cleaning the toilet out.
Answerliving conditions in the trenches are hard why is it hard to live in the trenchesMany of Brittish soldiers died because of disease. The sanitary conditions in the trenches are quite poor, and common infections included dysentery, typhus, and cholera. Many soldiers suffered from parasites and related infections. Poor hygiene also led to fungal conditions.
Trench foot and dysentery were the major conditions found in the trenches. Filled with standing stagnant cold water, soldiers on both sides suffered from foot rot and lack of sanitation.
Deplorable sanitation conditions in the trenches led to outbreaks of disease. Trench Foot was pandemic, and morale was low.
The soldiers would hide in the trenches and fire at the enemy.
Conditions in world war 1 trenches were so disgusting because soldiers could not risk being shot when cleaning out dead bodies etc. from the trenches. Soldiers had to learn to live the mess and after a while they barely noticed it.

well if they wanted to die then they killed themselves sometimes.

The trenches were in rained-out muddy areas created by the destruction of the landscape
Open the the elements, cold, partially filled with water when it was raining/snowing with rats included to the mix. The soldiers, as best I understand did what they had to do to cope. I have read reports of often waking to find a rat on them or nearby. It was a choice between rats and being wet or being in the open to the gunfire.

the typical day for the soldiers was when they had to stay in their trenches because it was snowing and it was freezing outside
