The tanks of today benefited by learning from the tanks of World War 2. They became wider, longer, larger inside and safer.

The ammo for the tanks are now electronically locked and unlocked so they can be retrieved to be loaded into the guns. They have a lot more armor plating in the crucial places. It is a little easier to get out of tanks.

The tanks of today go a lot faster than the World War 2 tanks. Speed is crucial and so is the size and power of the ammo. The size of the guns got bigger and more powerful too. The tanks of today can handle many types of climates and terrain whereas the tanks of World War 2 could not handle a lot of climates and mud.

What was the cost of a tank in World War I?

about 10 cents. The previous answer is not even worth that much, but the cost of a World War 1 tank was much more. As with the cost of a World War 2 tank or anything else in the past, an exact figure would be misleading because the value of money has decreased over the decades. What might seem a bargain in 1917-18 would be a small fortune today.

Why did Eisenhower fight in World War 2 and not in World War 1?

Eisenhower led troops in World War Two because he was the best officer in the Army at that time to do that. He was a superb tactician but he was also a top-notch diplomat, both of which were needed to help all the other Allies work with each other in an effective manner. He did not fight in World War One because he had early, excellent training in tank warfare. So he was ordered to spend the year of the US involvement in World War One training soldiers in tank tactics.
