In the same manner and place from which He left -- the Mount of Olives:
"...why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, WILL COME BACK IN THE SAME WAY YOU HAVE SEEN HIM GO INTO HEAVEN.'" (Acts 1:11 NIV)
"...He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid Him from their sight." (verse 9)
"Then they returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath day's walk from the city." (verse 12)
"On that Day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south." (Zech.14:4 NIV)
With power and great glory
Absolutely not! The Church fully expects and is anxiously anticipating the return of Jesus.
He did not say that.
Fishers of Men
Christians have believed in the imminent return of Jesus since the early days of the Church. Mark's Gospel has Jesus predict his return during the lifetime of his own disciples' generation. By the time the other gospels were being written, it was beginning to be clear that this prophecy would not be met, and each subsequent gospel paid less attention to his return within the current generation. Christians continued to expect an imminent return of Jesus. A major expection was that he would return at the start of the new millennium, in 1000 CE. Jehovah's Witnesses have identified several specific years when Jesus would return, with disappointment in each case. Today, many Christians believe that he will return 'soon', but accept that 'soon' is not necessarily during their own lifetimes. Others say that Jesus has died and will not return.
It would not be a stretch to say that Jesus performed all His Father's work to fulfill prophecy and prayers for the glory of Kingdom of God.
The word protuberances means
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.John 13:35
The Bible does not answer this question. The Bible simply states (in Jesus' words) that only the Father know and he did not say when this would happen. Only that signs would be given and that we are to watch and pray and be ready at any moment.
No one would know what he would say, because Jesus is unpredictable.
Generally the word you use to refer to yourself is the same whether or not another person is involved. You would say "please return this to me" and you would say "please return this to Lisa and me." You would say "I would like this returned" and you would also say "Lisa and I would like this returned."
Many Christians believe that Jesus will return some day. Jews, Muslims, Hindus and those of other religions, as well as atheists, say that Jesus has died and will never return.
Hello,May we come in?
