The results of this battle were : strategic and naval victory for the U.S , boost in morale, total annihilation of 2/3 of the total carriers that attacked Pearl Harbor (Kaga, Akagi, Soryu, Hiryu destroyed, Shokaku and Suikaku intact) and all the veteran and most experienced Japanese pilots that went to the battle were lost (about 400).
