Well, the feud between the two families has been going on for such a long time, it was going on even before the two lovers[Romeo & Juliet] were even born. It had even been going on for so long, that nobody in the family really remembers why the feud had begun in the first place.

∙ 12y agoNobody knows! That's the whole reason why the fight is so stupid. Maybe Old Montague and Old Capulet know, but the younger generations have simply been told to hate the opposing families. Their blood fued rage son and continues to break hearts and tear souls, but nobody even knows the reason that the hate each other, they are simply driven by some sick sense of innate loathing.
