During the French and Indian War (7 Year's War,) the French and their Native American allies used guerrilla tactics; shooting from behind trees and rocks, ambushes, etc. The British marched out onto the field in ranks and fired in formation (a more "traditional" type of warfare which is now obsolete.)

The Native Americans helped both the French and the British. . . . .. the Iriqois helped the french and the mohawk helped the British. I hope this helps :)
