The importance to the Israeli's on passover is that the Jews came out of Egypt from slavery.
It represents the rush of the Jews to escape from Egypt while cooking bread whose dough had yet to rise, and the Jews had to escape in their only chance for so many years so quickly and immediately that they couldn't finish their bread. The product of this is matzo. It was very significant and symbolic in the escape from Egyptian slavery; and our eating it during Passover is commanded by the Torah (Exodus ch.12).
The passover was a feast of the Jews ,in remembeaence of the time they were freed from slavery in Egypt.
The first massive enslavement of people was in Egypt. It was the Jews who are predominantly white. There captors were black Egyptians.
