It cost 54,000 American lives and $67 billion in expenditures. This unsuccessful war caused Americans to reject the Democratic party in 1952 and to re-elect Eisenhower. The war also increased fear of communist aggression and prompted a hunt for Americans who might be blamed for the communist gains.

The fanatical cult of the Emperor of Japan may have fueled the brutality with which the Korean people were subject to during the Nippo-occupation of the peninsula 1910-1945. Upon occupation by the USSR in 1946, most of Pyongyang's 300,000 Christians fled to the Allied controlled Republick of Korea (ROK). The Lenninist People's Democratic republic of Korea (PDRK) brutally oppressed many religious believers from the Buddhist, Confucianist and Shaminist religions as well. Christianity is frequently credited with fomenting a strident Korean nationalism among the citizens of the ROK. That Christian nationalism provided a persuasive influence on the ROK's embryonic democracy and intimidated the regime in Pyongyang. The PDRK has achieved an ominous ignominy as the most antichristian regime in the world.
Korean War, war between North Korea and South Korea, made the Koreans in need to escape from their houses, and move to other places that were far away from the DMZ. It made most of the nations die, and the population decreased enormously. However, the good part is that after the Korean War, because of the economy drop, not so much as a depression but because of most of the structures and everything collapse, they started to start the economic developments. In despite of a lot of depression among the nation, presidents worked hard to get the economy arise back again. This is why Korea is considered as a country with extremely fast development.

Joseph Stalin supported the North Korean attack in South Korea. Without his support there would have been no Korean War, as we know it today. The Korean War was a US-Soviet War fought by proxy. When Stalin died in 1953, the Korean War ended (1953).
The American five-star General of the Army, Douglas MacArthur, commanded the United Nations forces during the Korean War. MacArthur was sacked and relieved of duty in a controversial move by the Truman Administration. MacArthur actions and potential intentions in escalating the War into the People's Republic of China were seen as threatening civilian control of the military.
