The Makkans, with the exception of a few, turned against the Prophet (SAW) and the Muslims. They tortured them to that extent that they had to migrate to Madina Munawara. They also engaged the Muslims militarily for the ten year Madinan Period.

There is only 1 god Allah and Muhammad is the last messenger?

ANSWER 1: Bearing witness of that is the first pillar of Islam, it means ( There is No God except Allah and Muhammad PBUH is His Prophet). ANSWER 2: This is a slogan made by Mohammad (the founder of Islam) to be recited by his followers. This slogan means that Al-Lah the god of Meccans is the only god (Meccans worshipped 360 idols and Mohammad kept the main idol, the Al-LAH, as the only god) and Mohammad is his prophet. There is no slogan like this in other religions where a prophet or guru's name is mentioned with god in the faith statement. Sinful man's name is not mentioned with true God.

How did Meccans treat Muslims after Abu Talib's death?

The Makkans opposed the holy Prophet (SAW) as soon as he started preaching Islam, and told the people to worship One and Only Almighty Allah. They tortured the followers of Islam. However, after the death of holy Prophet's (SAW) uncle Abu Talib, the Makkans increased their atrocities and violence against the Muslims, most of them slaves, poor and downtrodden.

Why did the battle of uhud happen?

Uhud was a retaliation from Mecca following the Battle of Badr. The Meccans perceived Badr as an unprovoked attack on their warriors for no other reason than that the Muslims wanted to steal their goods. 66 Meccans were slain and 68 more were taken prisoner, while only 14 Muslims died. The Meccans wanted to punish the Muslims and teach them not to start wars for no reason. So one year after Badr, the Meccans went to Medina for a counter-attack. The Jews of Medina, who also wanted to get rid of Mohammed, had shown them the weak points of the city. Abu Sufyan, the high chief of Mecca, clearly stated that they had no hostility towards Medina in general, only towards the Muslims in particular; and when he said this, about a third of the Medinan army went home and did not fight. The Meccans then joined battle against those who remained loyal to Mohammed. In fact, Mohammed was winning at first; the battle only went against him when the Muslims stopped to collect booty before the Meccans had given up fighting them. 75 Muslims and 22 Meccans were killed at this battle. __________________________________________________ As one comment on the answer above, neither Muslims nor the prophet are robbers. it happened coincidentally that a group of pagan merchants from Mecca (Or Makkah) was passing by AlMadinah (or Medina) and Muslims thought that it could be a good chance to get the property of those people as compensation for all their properties, lands, money, houses that they left behind in Mecca when they migrated to Medina. However, verses from Quran was revealed to the prophet to prepare for their fighting to suppress their tyranny and aggression. The merchants got support of warriors from Mecca and the Badr battle started between the two fronts of warriors. The pagans were in much more numbers and war provisions than Muslims during this battle.

Who killed the Prophet Muhammad?

There was an attempt at poisoning the prophet (pbuh). It was a Jewish woman from the tribe of Qurayza, after the men had been killed. She attempted to poison the prophet, but she was not successful, even though the prophet had a taste. Once he realized it was poison, he called for her... And asked why she did it. She gave him the reply, " You killed my husband, and my father, if you are a true prophet you would surely have realised it was poison, if you are a fraud, i would have favoured the people by getting rid of you" He then forgave her, and let her free. He died four years later, and as you know.. no poison takes 4 years to kill a man. So he was not poisoned.
