They did not persuade anything. The majority of german civilians had no idea that Jewish peoples were being rounded up and killed systematically. These camps were often in somewhat remote places. From the citizens point of view, all Jewish people being taken were being deported. This is what they actually supported. They were convinced that Jewish people were lowering their economy(they were in a depression) and so they agreed and supported to have them deported/ and or taken out of such high monetary positions. However, Adolf Hitler had them killed rather than deported.
