The start of the station fire was not a power line. The origin was traced to some flammable materials that were found under a large oak tree near mile marker 29. The material was close to the Angeles Forest Highway, a road that goes north/south through the forest and is used by a lot of commuters.
A transient who was arrested about 1 month before the station fire for setting another smaller fire is suspected in the Station Fire but there are no eye witnesses as of now.
