Many people claim that the Kashmir dispute is the unfinished agenda of the partition plan. By this they imply that the solution of the Kashmir dispute should be looked in the light of two nations theory under which India was partitioned; or in the light of the UN Resolutions which deny the Kashmir people the right to determine their own future.

The United Nations has spearheaded a huge relief effort to help Haiti. Many branches of the UN are involved in sending aid to Haiti after the devastating earthquake in January 2010. The Central Emergency Response Fund helps areas affected by natural disasters. As of January 26, the UN's World Food Programme has sent the equivalent of 11 million meals to the region. There are numerous other ways the UN has helped Haiti. See related links for updates.
It was one of the terms and conditions of the maharaja of Kashmir before joining India. Its also incorporated in Article 370 of the Indian Constitution. Since Nehru took the matter to the UN in 1948 and a plebiscite was agreed, Kashmir has not officially joined India.
First of all there is nothing like Kashmir resolution over plebiscite. Through plebiscite Kashmirs are supposed to vote by themselves whether they want to remain as a part of India or of Pakistan. UN security council has passed numerous resolutions over it. UN resolution 47, passed on 21 April 1948 demands withdrawl of Pakistani tribesmen and nationals followed by simultaneous withdrawl of Pakistani and Indian regular forces.. there are no tribals or Pakistani nationals in Kashmir, and Pakistan is willing to carry out plebiscite, but it is India who doesn't want to carry out plebiscite in Kashmir and now claims Kashmir as its integral part.
The territory referred to is Kashmir. The cease-fire line established by the UN in 1949 divided the region, with Pakistan controlling one third (Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan) and India controlling the rest. The Line of Control (LoC) serves as the de facto border between the two sides.
