Other than joining the actual combat there are two significant ways in which the U.S. helped its allies: (1) FRD's "Lend Lease" program which enabled England to purchase war materials and pay for them later and (2) helping England win the War in the Atlantic and thereby keeping the sea lanes across the Atlantic open. Without either England could not have held out against Germany prior to the Normandy Invasion.

The Soviets were supplied with half a million US trucks and jeeps during the war which enabled the Red Army to sustain their mobile offensives that ripped apart the Germans. The US supplied many other materials and supplies to the USSR but the trucks were probably the most important.

The US had effectively unlimited industrial and agricultural capacity at the time and basically out produced all the axis countries put together in weapons, food, and other things required to fight the war.

i believe the US made a major effort during ww2; with lots of military help + supplies. the outcome would have been vv different if US neutral.
