Tried them at Nuremberg
The Allies established the Nuremberg Trials to prosecute major Nazi war criminals for crimes against humanity, war crimes, and genocide. Some were sentenced to death, while others received long prison terms. Additionally, many Nazis went into hiding or were involved in the ratlines that allowed them to escape to other countries.
they tried to over throw nazi germans
The Allies tried the highest up leaders of the Nazis at the Nuremberg Trials. Some were killed and others were put into prison for many years. Now, your question is HOW should the Allies deal with the Nazi war criminals after the war? That is a opinion question so I will tell you what I would have done. I would have dispensed all the civility (even though I am a Christian) and I would have had them all shot at one time with a very stern message to them about the sinfulness of what they did and they can now face their maker. The Nuremberg Trials took over a year and cost the taxpayers a lot of money. Do you think the Nazis gave fair trials to others? Not on your life. They just killed people at will. So even though I am a civil person I still would have dished out to them what they dished out to the Jews. I would have made them live in the concentration camps for 3 months with the amount of disgusting food they gave the Jews. Then I would have them shot.
Because the Russians were once allies with the Germans until the German 'Operation Barbarossa' military campaign ~ see related links below .
If you mean original members of the Nazi party from WW2 Europe, yes, some remain alive. If you mean those who espouse Nazi philosophy, yes again. However, neo-Nazi propaganda is illegal in much of Europe, especially Germany. There are also Nazi war criminals (those who worked at concentration/death camps or death squads) that are still alive today. Nazi hunter Efraim Zuroff estimates that there are over 1,000 of them living as of 2017. Nazi war criminals are still being prosecuted and will continue to be for several years to come.
The Allies... 2nd edit: (...who were...?)
The Nazi's were part of the Axis in World War II, which also included Japan. Even though Japan and the Nazi's (Germany) were attempting to take over the world together, they both had different ideas on what to do from then. The people who fought the Axis were the Allies, which consisted of America, the UK, and USSR. Poland and France were also major allies, but defeated in 1940 and in Operation Torch in 1942.
Both powers were a combined alliance of nations, the allies were; Great Britain, France, Spain, Belgium,(eventually the US would join the war but in 1918). The Central Power were; Germany(Remember, just Germany not "Nazi" Germany because the Nazi's were WW2), Austria-Hungary, Ottoman Empire, and Bulgaria( Italy would eventually switch over to the allies.
Most of the countries under Nazi rule (and the control of their allies) lost over 50% of their Jewish population:PolandLithuaniaLatviaSerbiaThe Netherlands (Holland)BelarusCroatiaRomaniaHungaryAustria
