In the winter and summer when the weather was extreme it would have destroyed crops and it would be hard work for the farmers.

Why did napoleon support art that was inspired by classical Roman art?

Napoleon supported the art inspired by Ancient Rome because it was revered as the perfection of art. The Romans had managed to create a level of art that was revered by everyone. Although it was, as you can call it, both ancient and not French, it was still a model to work with. As a matter of fact Ancient Rome also has an impact of art today. Although many claim they are basing their art on the Renaissance- that is not accurate. The Renaissance was 100% inspired by Ancient Rome. You will also notice that many architectural buildings are inspired by Rome- for example, the White House.

They were auctioned off and fought to the death. If they were lucky. Otherwise, they had to work in dangerous situations on high mountains and cliffs. If they misbehaved, they got a lashing and were starved until they died! (If you want to learn more watch 'Spartacus')
