The Coliseum is broken because of Natural disasters. Mainly Earthquakes. There is also the factor that it is incredibly old. Construction started around 70 AD.
there was also a lot of vandalism done to it as its marbles were stripped for other building projects during the middle ages.
The Colosseum didn't really break although an earthquake did minor damage. However most of its damage was due to vandalism. In the dark and Middle Ages people stripped it of its marble facing and statues to use for other purposes. Today we just have a very impressive skeleton of what it was.
Over the centuries following the end of Roman civilisation, the Colosseum, like many ancient Roman buildings, was quarried for building materials to build palaces, churches and other buildings. The interior was stripped of stone, the marble of the facade was burned to make quicklime, and the bronze clamps which held the stones together were ripped away.
There was severe damage in the great earthquake in 1349. The outer south side collapsed because it was on a less stable alluvial ground. The fallen stones were used for construction elsewhere.
In the Middle Ages, a small church was built inside the Colosseum and its arena was converted into a cemetery. The vaults in the arcades were converted into workshops and accommodation.

The Greeks wanted to break away from the Roman Empire because they desired independence and autonomy. The Romans imposed their language, culture, and political system on the Greeks, which led to resistance and a longing for self-rule. Additionally, the Greeks resented the heavy taxes and exploitation imposed by the Roman administration.
At the time of Daniel the Roman Empire did not exist. It developed later in history.
