The Great Depression affected urban and rural settings by droughts, the market crash of 1929 also known as black Tuesday, the wage cuts, 50% of children and adults were homeless with no water, food, shelter or medical care.

The overall jobless rate was 25% (1 out of 4 people) with another 25% taking wage cuts or working part time.One of the most popular games were monopoly because people could imagine that they were rich.Homeless people would travel by jumping trains, an estimated 50,000 people were killed jumping trains.
