The Han Dynasty was headed by a man, Liu Bang. He was the self-pronounced ruler, and a (said by Sima Qian, the historian) "an oafish man with an appetite for strong drink." He, however, was very thorough in his planning and surrounded by brilliant advisers. He had the full loyalty of his army and lasted for a rather long time on the system the Qin established before him.
