The UFW was pretty much founded to help migrant farm workers. Before the UFW, migrant farm workers were given less than or equal to minimum wage and their sleeping accommodations were really bad. Thanks to the UFW, migrant farm workers have been given health care opportunities, pay raises, and etc.
The UFW helped migrant farm workers by providing them with a means to collectively bargain for better working conditions and wages. It also allowed them to get better health care and living conditions.
In the 1960's Chavez created the UFW. Today his son is still involved with the union.
In the United States, most poor farmers have sold out to large corporations where the officials make millions and where the farms receive government subsidies. The large corporations do not need help. The people who need help are the migrant workers living on those factory farms who live 15 in a trailer.

Cesar Chavez was a founder of the United Farm Workers. He worked hard to get better pay and living conditions for many migrant workers. He organized a campaign for people to stop eating grapes to help get growers to pay better wages.
