The Renaissance.
During the middle ages there wasn't much room for new ideas. That's how the Renaissance started. New ideas were rich then. Some people even decided to break off from the catholic church in which they were suppose to search themselves for sins. By breaking away, they no longer did so but instead searched what was around them, not in them. Searches took them to new lands which they claimed as their own.
Far Away Lands was created on 1967-05-26.
Renaissance artists came away from painting austere religious icons and began to paint the people of the day. There was more of an emphasis on man than upon religion.

Classical ideas such as the emphasis on individualism, secularism, and the importance of education and the arts helped shape the Renaissance humanist worldview. The revival of classical texts also inspired humanists to focus on human potential, reason, and critical thinking, leading to a new emphasis on humanism and a shift away from medieval scholasticism.
The new political and economic ideas of the Renaissance, such as humanism and mercantilism, encouraged a focus on individualism and the pursuit of wealth. This led to a shift away from feudalism and towards centralized governments and capitalist economies, fueling the growth of cities and the emergence of a middle class. These changes helped to lay the groundwork for the modern nation-state and global trade networks.
The English Renaissance saw the break away from churchs and freedom of the arts.
