*Shamus meaning orcas. They all got the stage name Shamu during shows.

Actually, the current Shamu is not the 1st whale to be called Shamu at SeaWorld. The original Shamu died of old age in 1971, so no, SeaWorld did nothing to harm Shamu (although living in captivity can alter life expectancy for whales), her predecessors died of natural causes.
