The Romans built sewers by digging canals and and reinforcing them and covering them with stone.
Water was moved along aqueducts. Water was moved by gravity in conduits of stone, brick or concrete built with a slight gradient. Aqueducts were frequently underground. To pass through valleys or areas with different altitudes, the conduit was on bridgework. High bridgeworks were sometimes built with two or three rows of arches built on top of each other.
The city of Rome had 11 aqueducts which brought water from the nearby mountains. Their total length was 475 kilometers. The shortest one was the Aqua Appia, 16,56 km long and the longest one was the Aqua Marcia, 91.42 km.
The romans did
The Romans built sewers for the reasons one builds sewers: to channel and dispose of waste and for hygiene.
The Romans used a piping system called an aqueduct to supply their cities with water.
Actually, the Romans did. They made aquaducts and a means to carry water away plus they had a form of bathroom.
It depends on what the cost of water per thousand gallons is in your area and whether you have sewers. Usually the water bill is doubled when you have sewers. In my rural area, we don't have sewers, just city water at $3.95 per thousand. It cost us under $100 to fill a 16x34 inground pool.
They built roads, many of which are still in use today, hot water, sewers, so many things

While the Romans used aqueducts to supply water to their cities, they did not invent them. However they did perfect/or reinvent the syphon and pumps used to control the water. While the Romans used aqueducts to supply water to their cities, they did not invent them.
