Ebola has not been stopped and the only kind of treatment available is to support the patient with hydration and nutrition and hope they can get better. many don't. In terms of spread in the population, it can be stopped by effectively isolating all cases and also those who ahve been in contact with th effected.

No one knows exactly how the Ebola virus is spread. Many African people contract it because funeral practices involve expunging waste from the body. There is blood in the feces which spreads the virus. I guess all I can say about avoiding it is-Avoid contact with people with Ebola because is is highly contagious!

How long would it take a city of 200000 people to be infected by Ebola?

It depends. Ebola virus Is a highly infectious disease. It is spread not only by the living, but also by the dead. Funeral ceremonies can be a source of exposure of the virus to a large gathering of people. In countries where cadavers of people who died of Ebola are not handled aseptically, the disease can spread very quickly. One method of limiting the spread of the disease is to cremate those who died of the disease. Ebola virus can wipe out a city of 200,000 in two months.
