The Europeans believed that the earth was there for them to take to improve their lives both physically and monetarily. They destroyed whole forests to plant more and more crops.
The American Indians believed that the lands were entrusted to them by the Creator. They believed they had to maintain that trust by not taking more than they needed, whether it was animal or trees.
The Native Americans didn't believe in "owning" so they thought it was every-ones land. The Europeans didn't want everyone to be able to have land so you have to own what you want instead of just taking it. The Europeans got angry at the Native Americans when they tried to take the Europeans land so they killed them.
The Europeans held that to own land it must be enclosed. Beginning in the late 1500s they began to measure and enclose land. When they arrived in the the "New World" the land was not enclosed for the most part although the indigenous people had large settlements and centers of trade of long standing but did not have the concept of ownership of the land. Since the land wasn't enclosed the Europeans thought it was free land just waiting to be claimed by them.
The Europeans sold and owned land. The Indians believed that you can't "own" land. They believed that land was there for all( You share it with everyone)
na
i have no idea lol
This is one of the first cons brought upon the true "African" natives. The Dawest Act of 1887 gave the US President the right to divide up American Indian land and give sections of it to individual Indians. Any Indians that agreed to accept a plot of land and live separate from the rest of their tribe would receive US citizenship in return. It's called, divide and conquer. That is exactly what they did.
high tariffs.
The idea of Independence was split 50-50 at best. One of the major issues facing the Americans during the Revolution was the fact that so many of the American colonists were loyal to the crown.
None. Yellow lines on the road was a British idea. Britain introduced the idea to Canada, then the US adopted the idea from the Canadians. Michigan was the first American state to paint the lines on their roadways.
Our culture and beliefs were eradicated from our memory. Our language is almost extinct as is the Choctaw Indians. We have no idea what our ancestors wanted us to know. We now only have a pow-wow and not much else.
It would be a good idea to specify whether you mean American Indians or Indians as in India. Anyway, I doubt if anyone knows.
They used it wisely then other american indians
The padres taught catholicicom to the indians.
indian men treat women poorly
Requerimento was a document that Columbus and his men made the Indians sign after "finding America," stating that they would pledge their allegiance to God. Unfortunately, there was a language barrier and the Indians had no idea what they were agreeing to. This was the start of what many have called "The American Holocaust."
I have no idea yes?
Socalism
When the Europeans passed diseases on to American Indians, they and their ancestors had built up an immunity to the diseases. Some also did not know they carried the disease or it did not affect them because of their race. The Indians who then received the diseases suffered the way Europeans had when introduced to the diseases, but that's not really necessary to know most of the time because it was simply an ongoing thing that had started many many years ago. The Europeans had no idea that they even could pass it on to the Indians, and because they were immune, it was like no tag-backs in tag.The Europeans originally got the diseases from animals. They lived so close to pigs, cows and other animals that contracted diseases. They ate them, drank their milk and had them living in the same house, with just a wall separating it. These diseases that the Europeans received came from those animals. However, the North/Central/South Americans did not live nearly as close to animals. They did not have cows, sheep, goats, horses or pigs in America. There were very few illness that came to the Americans, therefore when introduced to diseases for the first time, the result was devastating. They were very clean people that lived in small groups.
To destroy the indians
To get a general idea, the Native Americans taught the Europeans how to farm, kill certain animals, make jewelry (such as bead necklaces), and many other things. In return, the Europeans taught the Native Americans how to use advanced technologic weapons (guns), and taught them the idea of religion.
It led to the Enlightenment and the idea of progress
