I'm asuming it was a combination of luck and both sides digging at the same time.
They had to get there before the other side did, so that they could get an advance into making their trench, so before the other side come, they will be ready will their trenches!
The trenches were deep enough to allow soldiers to move about without being shot. So if they wanted to look out to see what the enemy were doing they needed a step to stand on. This was the firestep, constructed at the front of the trench, which also allowed them to fire at the enemy in the trench opposte.
Trench warfare put in simple words is wholes in the ground that the army digs up, to avoid crossfire. Although it does prevent being shot it creates a stalemate, which means the battle doesn't gain any land until long periods of time. Trenches were created in world war 1 because at the time they invented the first machine gun that can shoot 9 yards of ammo. The Only way to prevent getting shot was the trenches at the time.
um. they SHOT themselves... think...
The challenge is to get down the court without getting the ball stolen and to put enough power into your shot to make it.
To prtect the army from getting shot
In a submarine where it stays underwater but can see on surface. Or in a war it is used in trenches to see over the top without getting shot.
they feel terrible from the smell of dead bodies lien everywhere in no mans land and they use periscope to see through without getting shot
The most common way a man would die in the trenches would be that they were shot by a sniper.
there were trenches in ww1 because obviously the soldiers needed somewhere undercover otherwise they would all be shot on the first day. but the trenches cotributed to the stalemate, so they weren't that affective in winning the war.

A good nurse will be able to give you a shot without pain or an ice pack.
They shot at them, used barbed Wires and lines.
If you use the depo shot correctly it will work automatically what I mean by correctly is getting the shot during your cycle I would suggest getting the shot during the first day of your period :)

with trenching spades if they didn't dig quick enough they risked being shot
