It is unclear exactly what the question is asking. There was nothing major going on in Cambodia other than the genocide.
The Cambodian genocide is actually a democide, not a genocide, which means that it was government sanctioned killing of citizens, but these citizens were not chosen on the basis of their race, religion, age, sexual orientation, etc. The democide came as a result of massive communal farms and the repetitive murder of those who resisted farming or failed to meet the quotas. These massive communal farms covered the majority of the country and entire cities were depopulated in order to work the fields. Those people who remained in the cities were typically there because they were part of the Cambodian bureaucracy and were necessary to run the country.
From 1962 and is still going on today.
The genocide ended in 1994.

The most famous event that took place in 1975 was the fall of South Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia to the Communists. The USA gave up and let the inevitable happen.
going to a school that includes of all races
Yes is does. Thailand and Vietnam are the main enemies of Cambodia. Thailand, right now is claiming that the temple that closed to its border is belong to Thai property; even though the International Court of Justice had already gave that temple to Cambodia in 1962. And lately Vietnam has passed the law to banned all TV, radio, and other broadcasting from Cambodia, they don't want Khmer Krom ( Cambodian who live in the south of Cambodia, today is control by Vietnam) to hear or know things going on in Cambodia.
