Many facts about the Velociraptor are well known. This is mainly due to the discovery of several fossils. It lived during the Cretaceous period and became extinct about 70 to 80 million years ago. Like the other dinosaurs it is likely believed that it must have perished when a comet struck the Earth at the time.
Velociraptors were small carnivorous dinosaurs, therapods.
They starved to death, during the K-T major extinction. The surviving mammalians were not enough to feed this species.
There are some paleontologists that belive Velociraptors could have been a chronospecies.
They suggest Velociraptors could had diminuished their size during and after the K-T boundary, and developed more efficient feathers, beeing ancestry to present Cenozoic birds.
(Personally, I do not subscribe this hypothesis.)
All dinosaurs died off at about the same time, approximately 64 million years ago.
Incidentally, the Oviraptor is the most mis-named of dinosaurs. The first described fossils appeared to have died in a sandstorm (nicely preserving the remains; bad for the creature; good for the paleonotologist) while raiding the nest of a Protoceratops, so it got a name which mean "egg thief."
Years later, more fossils were found and better science determined that the creature was guarding ITS OWN eggs (quite protectively, too, shielding them with its arms). Though my terminology is not accepted by any scientific body - the rule is, "first name is THE name" - I insist on privately referring to the maligned critter as "Ovogregor" -- "egg protector."
nobody actually knows how any dinosaurs became extinct...... It's all theory...
I don't know. I'm stupid.

The closest living relatives of Oviraptor are birds. Birds are the only type of dinosaurs that still exist. Therefor, not only are birds the closest living relatives of the Oviraptor, they are also the closest living relatives of any other extinct dinosaur.
a giant asteroid hit them
it does.

A meteorite impact
The dinosaur name oviraptor originally meant "egg thief", because of the fact that an oviraptor skeleton was discovered "stealing" eggs from another dinosaur's nest. But recent evidence actually shows that the oviraptor was just being a good mother and protecting her nest from egg thiefs, but most likely a sand storm.
Ruby is an Oviraptor.
yes
There is no such thing as a dinosaur that flys. The difference between a pteradoctyl and a bird is: Birds have feathers and pteradoctyl's don't. The difference between a oviraptor and a bird is: Oviraptor have hands and birds have wings.
oviraptor bones and protoceratops eggs
Oviraptor, by scientific guess, lived around 3 years, maybe 5 if there are few predators. Oviraptor could well defend itself, though. It is probable they could live longer, but we may never know, due to the fact that Oviraptor is extinct.
