Not bad. Some specialty tools needed like a foot lb torque wrench, an inch lb torque wrench and a dial indicator. A shop manual for that vehicle would also be helpful.
to change carrier bearings in rear differenial you have to remove the rear differential from the vehicle. then remove the cover. remove the bearing caps. remove differential carrier unit. remove bearings. install new bearings. and then reassemble. recommend having a professional repair shop peform repairs
Either raise the engine or drop the differential and relay rod. Its not a fun job. I recently had to replace one of my rod bearings, ( long story of issue), so I dropped the pan and did the change without pulling the engine. Its not too difficult once you get into the job. But he is correct you will need to drop the differential to get to the pan.
what type of fluid goes into the differential of a toyota forklift
I don't believe there is a specific torque specification! Once you install the crush sleeve and tighten the nut to the desired preload on your pinion bearings, your torque will be what it will be.
Changing wheel bearings on a Toyota RAV4 is similar to other vehicles. After properly and safely removing the tire, the cowling should be removed giving access to the bearings. Be sure to clean the housing area and properly pack the bearings.
It has no differential plug.
Differential is attached to the transmission. You can find it by tracking where front wheel axles go in the transmission. The part is the differential.
Yes, you can find one the side of the differential facing the trunk.
you don't they are sealed bearings. they will need pressed out of the hub to change them.
From the rear it could be the differential, however those front differentials are notorious for making noise. That whining noise derives from the viscous coupler, and is normal. Bring it to a dealer, not some crappy backyard mechanic. And have a certified Toyota TECHNICIAN inspect the front an rear differential, transmission, and wheel bearings (but those typically hum when bad), I almost gurantee you just hear the viscous coupler noise.
The flashing light is letting you know your differential is locked in for more traction
