There's a selection of the texts of Baha'i prayers at the link shown below.

You can see that the first category is called 'obligatory prayers.' These are prayers that go with a particular sequence of actions, such as bending down, turning your head to left and right, facing in the direction of the shrine of Baha'u'llah (near Akka, in Israel).

Then there are lots of prayers for particular occasions. Like the first group, these are 'revealed' prayers: the texts are part of the Baha'i scriptures, just as the Lord's prayer is part of the text of The Bible.

Finally, there's your own individual prayer, in your own words, or if you want to use some other text you can. This shades into musical devotions: for instance if you use a Gregorian chant for your prayer, is that singing or praying?

There is actually no specific, prescribed procedure - except for the so-called "obligatory prayers", which have specific associated movements. Apart from that, if you are a Bahá'í you have freedom in this respect. It is customary to pray in groups before starting certain meetings; and Bahá'ís are expected to pray on their own, regularly.

Where do Bahai's pray?

Most usually in their own homes, because we pray daily. There are devotional meetings where Bahais and anyone else who wants to join us pray, read scriptures, meditate and (with a bit of luck) sing together. These are usually in people's homes but there is sometimes a local Bahai centre. There are also a few specially dedicated Houses of Worship. There's an article on them in wikipedia:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bah%C3%A1%27%C3%AD_House_of_Worship
