The environment or nature is called Prakriti and is considered as the female form of energy. Since, Hindus, believe that every animate or inanimate object is a manifestation God, by default, everything becomes worshippable. However, since, Hinduism does not force people to follow anything strictly, it becomes a matter of individual choice on how you treat your environment.
That depends on the Hindu. Some don't eat meat, some don't drive cars, some don't so anything that they think will harm the planet. Others go to the other extreme and intentionally hurt the planet.
Hindu systems, epics, scriptures and rituals heavily preach the worship of nature and take care of environment and bio diversity.
Hindus believe it is there duty to protect the environment. Hindus also appreciate help from others in protecting the environment as well. Hope this helps. :)
