I believe the first step is to understand why you believe the devil is fighting you in your spirit and heart. You may feel bouts of extreme depression, but that is not evidence of the devil at work. You may feel a strong desire to commit a serious wrong, but that is not evidence of the devil at work. You may experience mood swings or antisocial attitude. Or you may believe you ought to be piously religious but can not raise any enthusiasm for the task.
