Changing ignition coil on a Subaru consists of removing four capscrews, four sparkplug wires, and one clip-on electrical connector then putting the new coil in, attaching the wires and tightening the screws. No mystery here and the job is easier than changing wiper blades. Much easier. --Ken

To replace the ignition switch on a 2000 Subaru Forester, first disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Remove the steering column covers by unscrewing the necessary screws, then locate the ignition switch attached to the ignition lock assembly. Disconnect the wiring harness from the old switch and unscrew it from its mounting. Install the new ignition switch in reverse order, making sure to securely connect the wiring and reassemble the steering column covers.

Yes, it is definitely good to use transmission fluid in your Forester. I highly recommend it and use it in my 2000 with no problems.
