First check the brake light fuse, then the brake light bulbs and lastly check the brake light switch. If all that checks good you may have a faulty signal switch (AKA the multifunction switch).
Check the fuses, Check the bulbs, Check the brake light switch, In that order.
Check the brake light fuse, the bulbs, the brake light switch and last, check the signal switch.
Check the brake light switch on the brake pedal
The brake lights and the tail lights are separate circuits. Check the brake light fuse, then check the brake light bulbs, then check the brake light switch.

Check you brake fluid and the brake switch on the proportioning value. If the fluid level is ok then disconnect the switch to see if the light goes out. Also check the parking brake switch.
Check the brake light fuse. If you have 12 volts at the brake light switch I would suspect the signal light switch is at fault.
Check the fuse, check the bulbs, then check the brake light switch.
