If you have previously washed it and put it into the dryer, removing the smell might be difficult. Try soaking it in water with white vinegar added for a few hours and then wash it again--with soap and warm water. Hang to dry. If it still smells, try soaking it in baking soda and water--that is a degreaser and may make the difference. Generally, the more quickly you wash clothing that has an odor the better off you are.

Uhhh, it will smell if you don't change the water and it wouldn't smell as good as bleach, either. Not that bleach is all that pleasant to smell, but it's a heck of a lot better then a dirty fishbowl. Bleach would kill a fish, by the way. As would chlorine. Does your fish's bowl smell like bleach?
