If you mean, "how do Japanese people say goodbye?" there are a number of ways.
"Ja, mata" implies you will see the person again fairly soon.
"Mata ashita" means, "see you tomorrow".
"Ittekimasu" is used when leaving the home (it loosely means, "I'm leaving"), and it is proper to respond to this phrase by saying "Itterasshai" (have a safe trip).
"Sayounara" is obviously the most well known version of a Japanese 'goodbye' outside of Japan, however, "sayounara" has feeling of finality to it. Maybe not as strong as "goodbye forever", but you probably wouldn't say it to someone you planned on seeing the next day.
