How do South Koreans dress for special occasions?

The Hanbok has been acceptable dress for special occasions since the Three Kingdoms period in Korean history. It is still worn today, but mostly for traditional holidays. The majority of Koreans who wear it are older, because of the younger generations reluctance to wear this outfit.

For woman, a one piece wrap-around dress, or skirt, is worn. Over it is a half jacket. Men wear loose pants and a full jacket.

They wear a Hanbok, traditional Korean Clothing. The boys and girls have different clothing, but only the bottom part.

Girls- Long one-piece looking dress, usually bright colored, worn first. Then another half-jacket is worn, along with a pouch of "luck" which is extra. Their hair is usually braided with red ribbons.

Boys- Very loose pants are worn, made with silk sometimes. They were a full jacket, as opposed to the girls' half. Their hair is kept short, and under a hat if the occasion is very important. The jacket could also be a vest, with a white shirt underneath.
