A man needs to accept that the Lord is Jesus Christ, and ask him to forgive him of his sins. Then he needs to turn away from sin, and walk a holy life while reading his Word, The Bible, to know him better.
Once you correct the relationship, you need to stay in contact with God by praying to him to help you in everyday life, for he is now in your life, and wants to help you be like Christ.
