The white people from England came and discovered NSW but when they found the land was already inhabited by Aboriginals, they wanted the land so they began to hurt and attack the Aboriginals to make them extinct but they couldn't. The Dreaming has different meanings for different Aboriginal groups. The Dreaming can be seen as the embodiment of Aboriginal creation, which gives meaning to everything - the essence of Aboriginal belief about creation, spiritual and physical existence. It establishes the rules governing relationships between the people, the land and all things for Aboriginal people. Story telling is an integral part of the Australian indigenous people. The stories tell how the land came to be shaped and inhabited how to behave and why; where to find certain foods, etc.
The black means the people, the yellow means the sun and the red can mean the blood to some Aboriginal people
The indigenous people of the Canberra region were the Ngunnawal.
The Aboriginal people, like all people over Australia, have areas where they historically breside and have cultural connection, typically for thousands of years before European settlement. For Aboriginal people Australia is their country. The Aboriginal community has laws and customs governing their occupation and use of land throughout the Australia that predate European arrival.
The word "aborigine" means a native race of any land. Aboriginal peoples are those who are indigenous to the area. American Indians are Aboriginal Americans. Most people, when they see the word, however, think of the aboriginal tribes of Australia. Australian aborigines have dark skin, similar to most Africans, but a small number have blond hair, similar to Caucasians.
According to many Aboriginal cultures, the land was created during the Dreamtime, a sacred era when ancestral beings shaped the earth, its features, and its inhabitants. These beings traveled across the land, forming mountains, rivers, and other landscapes while establishing laws and cultural practices that govern life. This creation narrative varies among different Aboriginal groups, reflecting their unique connections to specific regions and environments. The Dreamtime remains a central aspect of Aboriginal spirituality and identity, emphasizing the deep relationship between the people and their land.
