Well, it depends what type of animal you are talking about. If you talking about an animal with 2 or more cells, (like a monkey or fish) they produce sexually. What that means is that there are two animals. Take fish for example:

There is a girl monkey and a boy monkey. The girl has a microscopic egg inside their body. The boy puts sperm on that egg, and within 10 months, a baby comes out. That's all you need to know. ;]
