They don't eat *nothing* normally. They allow themselves some things, but not much. I don't want to give anyone reading this any ideas because I wouldn't wish this disorder on my worst enemy, but when I was anorexic I would eat low-calorie, low-fat, small sized meals. On a typical day I'd allow myself 200 calories. If I was feeling particularly angry with myself or something bad happened, I'd eat less. Other days I'd eat a little more but would hate myself so much afterwards I'd go back to eating nothing. It's a horrible cycle and it's hard to break, but I finally did it.
