BAROMETERS MEASURE PRESSURE
The original ones where an ammount of Mercury in a glass tube.
The man who invented the barometer took his tube of mercury to the bottom of a hill, wrote a line on the glass where the top of the Mercury sat, then walked up to the top of the hill, only to find that the Mercury level was above the line he had drawn at the bottom. This proved that air has a pressure, and a higher pressure coser to the earth's surface. The Mercury molecules in the glass were farther apart at the top of the hill, because there were fewer air molecules above the top of the hill than the bottom of the hill.
THERMOMETERS MEASURE TEMPERATURE
The original ones were an ammount of mercury in a glass tube.
The man who invented the thermometer took his tube of mercury and put it in a cold glass of water. He wrote a line on the glass where the top of the mercury sat. then put it in a glass of hot water, only to find that the Mercury level was above the line he had drawn at the bottom. This proved that heat effects matter's volume, and that hotter things will be larger than smaller things. The mercury molecules in the glass were farther apart when warm because they had more energy, and therefore moved more than if they were cold.
They both have numbers on them
Weather stations maps,barometers,anemometers,and thermometers
in thermometers, barometers, fluorescent lamps and batteries.
Historical, both thermometers and barometers have used mercury.
they use satellites and barometers and thermometers
Here are just a few: Athletic shoes, thermometers, barometers
Weather instruments such as thermometers, hygrometers, and barometers are typically stored in a Stevenson screen. These instruments are used to measure temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure for meteorological observations.
Thetools scientist use are Barometers, Anemometer's thermometers Richter Scale
Meteorologists use tools including barometers, thermometers, anemometers, and wind vanes.

Mercury was commonly used in thermometers and barometers. However, because it is poisonous, people are trying to use it in less things now.
