To cant beat Super Mario Bros. you dont need to beat all the levels in each World. Once you havent completed the levels and get frustirated you cant go into the Castle and try to beat Bowser's children. Usually there are two castles, but sometimes there is only one.
In some Worlds there are Ghost Houses to be completed.
You have to beat the game to unlock World 9. Each level in World 9 is unlocked by finding all of the star coins in each of the Worlds 1-8.
You will have finished the game when all levels in World 9 are completed.
Basically what this person is saying is "Get all the star coins in Worlds One through Eight, then get through World Nine and you will have finished the whole game!" the game sucks any way
