The rooster picks a hen to mate with and does a dance around her, the hen will indicate receptiveness by lowering herself closer to the ground and the male will grasp her neck feathers and stand on her back. The male chicken does not have a penis and therefore there is no penetration of the female reproductive tract at the time of mating. The female inverts her cloaca which is the common junction of the reproductive and digestive systems. Her cloaca comes in contact with the male's inverted cloaca and receives the sperm. The cloaca is then drawn back into the hen's body and the sperm are captured. Sperm then begins the journey up the length of the reproductive system. The sperm live inside the female reproductive system and each time an ovulation occurs (every 24-26 hours in good egg producers) the egg can become fertile. This process continues and matings at 7 - 10 day intervals are necessary to maintain fertility.
In most cases the female fish releases her ova and the male releases his "milt' (sperm) over them or in the general vicinity. The whole process relies on the production of vast numbers of ova and sperm.
they dont....... they are not supposed to eat them.....
No animal eats it's own eggs. Unless you mean how do humans fertilize eggs when they are eating them? The chicken eggs you eat for breakfast or whatever are not fertilized, that would make them zygotes.
The male bird will copulate with the female bird and the eggs are fertilized within the female before she lays them.
Pigeon eggs are fertilized internally after an adult male and female mate. The female then lays the eggs and the embryos continue to develop outside of her body.
The rooster has to breed with the hen.
roosters fertilize the eggs but they dont raise the chick
You need roosters to fertilize the eggs, therefore producing more chicks.
No possible rooster from any foreign country lays eggs a rooster is a male so it can only fertilize a hen for able to make an offspring
our roosters don't fertilize our eggs it would be good if they did
My rooster sat on the eggs the first time we got him, but he soon stopped and hes job is to fertilize and protect the hens.
No, Bantam roosters do not take care of eggs, his job is to fertilize those eggs, guard the chickens from predators, and crow.
If the there are roosters available and they fertilize the hen's egg, then it is possible for the egg to hatch and have a baby chicken.
NO, hens lay eggs without roosters at all. The only thing roosters do for eggs, is fertilize them (Threw Mating) so that a chick can hatch.
There is no egg. (Roosters do not lay eggs).
Yes Hens and roosters mate to fertilize the eggs the hen produces
Too many roosters will just result in a lot of fights. Only one rooster is required to fertilize eggs in hundreds of hens.
they can if you want it to but it doesn't need 1. if you do have 1 then it will most likely fertilize the hens eggs. i have 8 hens and no roosters! hope this helps from i-luv-my-chickens
