The cardiac muscle is what is called an 'involuntary' muscle, as it contracts without us consiously being aware of it. The cardiac muscle continues to contract if it has a sufficient supply of oxygen and nutrients.

the cardiac muscle is the heart. oxygenated blood flows into the heart, the heart pumps. this pushes the blood around the body transporting oxygen and collecting waste products such as carbon dioxide. deoxygenated blood is the same but is pumped to the lungs to be oxygenated. i hope that helps?
