What dogs get along with cats?

This depends on the dog and cat. Some dogs will bark angrily if it sees a cat on their territory, others will bark and chase the cats, trying to catch them, & still others will be friendly towards the cat, & try to make friends with them. Dogs' behavior towards cats differs from dog to dog; some are friendly, some cautious, some angry, & many more other behaviors too.

If you get a new dog or cat, and you already have one or the other at home, you should put them on opposite sides of a glass door or something else that separates them but allows them to observe the other, & see how they react. Dogs might also get jealous that a cat is taking attention from them. Before putting dogs & cats together, you should always make sure they'll get along with each other, & won't try to hurt the other.

On the other hand, if an untrained or particularly aggressive dog happens to see a cat when it is out, the owner may have difficulty restraining it as the dog has the urge to chase the cat.

it depends on the dog and the cat. My dog will try to play with it but other dogs will take it as an agessive action and try to protect itself and others are scared of them.
