Mitosis and Meiosis are two ways cells reproduce.

Mitosis is asexual cell division. DNA duplicates it self. Centrioles separate and a spindle forms. Chromosomes separate on the spindle. Then the cell closes up making two diploid cells. In other words, it splits itself in two which is also called binary fission.

Meiosis is a reduction division that produces four cells with one half the number of chromosomes as the parent cell. The resulting cells are called sex cells.
