Best Answer

My cockatoo tucks her head into her shoulder and stands on one leg when she sleeps. Many other parrots sleep this way. Some will burrow down into newspaper on bottom of cage to sleep and some will go into a nestbox to sleep.

Cockatiels should get 10-12 hours of light and 10-12 hours of dark (sleep). This should be uninterrupted.
